Waterfall & Wildlife & Exploring

We continue to keep busy, enjoying life. We went along on  a trip to Todos Santos with two couples that we have met, all the while picking their brains for info on Mainland Mexico (probably a future trip). We stopped for beach walking, shrimp chili rellenos (delicious), and drinks at Hotel California.

We have spent time wandering around the shops & taco stands downtown Cabo people watching. We have watched whales from the shore, laughing at their tail & flipper slapping & splashing.

Another day trip to Santiago & area, first stop at La Zorra waterfall. On to an area of red rock canyons where we saw a roadrunner & a bobcat crossed our path (much too quickly for a photo).

We are surrounded by blooms & greenery, our cactus has sprouted strange flower-like things and the surrounding hills are changing as it gets warmer.

We hiked up the "mountain" again, this time taking the GPS. The elevation change is just over 1000 ft, distance is 2.6 km one way, but it is "as the crow flies" & not the twisty path that we follow.

More snorkeling, saw a lobster in the rocks and had a school of fish following me ( we had just eaten & perhaps my hands smelled like food!)

Some neighbors moved their TV outside & we had a small Superbowl party, complete with campfire & snacks. We were feeling a bit nostalgic so we had our first Big Mac meal since arriving in Mexico-tastes the same except for a smaller drink & less salt! Cost of 79 pesos, about $6.50.

Yesterday was another day of driving out into the "boonies" to explore. Found some large sea shell fossils up in the hills, kept a few but took more pictures. Our weight capacity of the RV is getting close to max with all the rocks, shells & now fossils! We passed by several small farms, lots of cows and one with peacocks & turkeys.

We have made some new friends here & caught up with old ones, all of whom we will miss but we are heading for beach camping this weekend. Next installment after the move.
Still living the dream!

  3. Great pictures and blog, as usual. Hope the beach camping is going good. Are the peacock and turkey wild. assuming no because of the barbwire fence. Keep the dreams alive. CHEERS PAT

  4. Love the Don't Worry ... Be Happy sign, with enough pacifico, tequila and corona anythings possible! Been quite a few years since that fad went through Canada. Blooms and beach camping I am ready for! We have had a cold snap that is lasting longer than usual....going on 2 weeks:( Suppose to be warmer by next weekend, got my fingers crossed. I wonder if they eat the peacocks or they are just pets(hopefully!)? The cattle definitely look to be in good shape compared to the pictures of the ones we saw. Wishing we were beach camping or more to our liking, bush camping with you! Take Care
